Troll Falls
Directions to trail head
Hike Description
The Troll Falls trail can be a loop that utilizes the Troll Falls trail and the Skogan Pass trail. In the winter these trails are tracked for cross country skiing and they start at the Ribbon Creek Day Use area. The GPS track starts in the Stoney Trail Day Use area and takes you to Troll Falls while keeping you off of the cross country ski trails. Walk or snowshoe 1.6 kilometers on the Stoney Trail (following the overhead powerline) to the intersection of the Hay Meadows trail. Turn left, walk a couple of hundred meters and you will find yourself on the Troll Falls trail. It is tracked for cross country skiing but you are only on this trail for about 100 meters. Stay on the shoulder. You will leave the main trail and walk 300 meters on the trail through the trees to the falls. There is a sign marking the final 300 meter portion to the falls.

You can return to the parking area via the Hay Meadows Loop which offers some nice views of the creek and only adds a couple of hundred meters to the trek.
If you hike to the falls in the summer below is a photo of Troll Falls.
