Terrace Trail - Kananaskis Village to Galatea Trailhead
Directions to trail head
Hike Description
Not to be confused with the Terrance Link trail that is a circuit to the north of the villages, this is a great trail especially early in the spring. The elevation will not break you and the trail is usually dry long before others in the area. Starting out in Kananaskis Village the trail runs on the ridge above the Kananaskis Golf Course to the Galatea Trailhead. The trail is 8 kilometres in length (one-way).
Do not be confused by the signs in the area that also have the Terrace Link Trail clearly marked on them, this is not a circuit.
Where ever you park you will start walking on the paved Village Rim trail. The intersection for the Terrace Trail is at the northwest corner of the loop.
A slight detour of only 50 metres or so and you will be standing at the lookout with the view in the photo below. If you can see this view, the trail is off to your right (west) only a few metres.

Once you start the hike off of the paved trail you will descend down a gradual downhill. You will then reach an intersection with no trail names just a sign bearing a silhouette of a hiker. Keep straight, remember you want to stay on the ridge so that you end up overlooking the golf course. The next intersection is clearly marked with an intersection for the Kovach trail. This is the last intersection that you will have to worry about until you reach the final intersection with the Galatea Trail.
The last picture included is of the suspension bridge a few hundred metres from the Galatea Trailhead.
