Directions to trail head
Hike Description
This hike is relatively flat. The trail follows the Maligne River to its intersection with and then proceeds along the Athabasca River. To the east at the openings along the trail Mount Colin and Grisette Mountain are visible. Chetamon , Espalande and Cliff Mountains (below) are visible to the northeast across the Athabasca River.

After approximately 1 kilometer the trail heads inland away from the river. At 1.5 kilometers (waypoint #002) is the intersection to return to the parking area. By turning right at the intersection you will reach the coral where the warden’s horses are kept. After following the coral fence you will reach the access road to the coral that you will follow back to the parking area.
