Hike Description

This is a guided hike and it is accessible only through the Burgess Shale Foundation.

After having booked the hike many month in advance, it was time to hike the great trail again. After meeting the guides, the trail head is located on the south side of Field. After a gradual climb through mature forest, the trail turns into a continuous steep climb without any significant easy sections. There are some great viewpoint along the way. After a last push toward the trilobite beds, the views are magnificent. The trilobite beds are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are a major fossil site in the Canadian Rockies.
