Lake Minnewanka to Warden's Cabin
Directions to trail head
Hike Description
This looks like one of the more scenic hikes in the Banff area. Over 14 kilometers the elevation gain is only 42 meters and the total climbing is only 165 meters. In the mountains this is as flat as you can get. The Aylmer Pass hiking trail junction in approximately 8 kilometers from the trail head (one way) and the warden patrol cabin is approximately 15 kilometers from the trailhead (one way). This trail would be a great trail for fast packing. The gps track was sent to me by zebble who ran the trail and did a post about it as part of his site Banff Trail Running.
Here is the satellite image of this area.
The photos for this hike were used with permission. The first is by Randallq and is of Mount Inglismaldie and Lake Minnewanka. The third is "A Day at the Lake" from cgrabig who has a fantastic photoblog worth checking out.
