Akamina Parkway to Wall Lake Trail and Forum Falls

Hazards on trail
Hike Description
The hike to Wall Lake is 11.5 kilometers return. It is worth adding less than a kilometer to see Forum Falls. If you are ambitious you can also keep hiking past Forum Falls to Forum Lake adding an additional 4 kilometers.
The first kilometer is a steady steep climb before the trail flattens. A short distance later, a few hundred meters, is Akamina Pass which is fairly nondescript. There are markers for the BC boundry in Alkamina Pass. At 2.1 kilometers is the intersection for Forum Falls and Forum Lake. To the left is the Falls and straight ahead is Wall Lake. Approximately 200 meters from the intersection towards the lake is the Alkamina Creek Campground.
As you approach Wall Lake (below) you will see the cliffs behind it. There is a intersection, horses stay to the right to the lake and hikers to the left. If you are on the correct trail a footbridge crosses Wall Creek immediately before you reach the lakeshore. I hiked to this lake at the end of August and there was still some sections of deep snow on the backside of the lake. The cliffs around the lake and the lake itself are very picturesque. I was really impressed. The pictures do not do it justice.

On the way back I recommend the detour to Forum Falls. For the additional 700 meters it is worth it.
