Hi anyone,

My fiance and I moved to Edmonton a year ago and are now hoping to have a wedding back in southern Alberta. We are having the reception in Bragg Creek and wanted to have the ceremony somewhere within a half hours drive. Does anyone know of a place where we could bring a hundred chairs and still have close proximity to a road for parking (and a shorter walk for the older relatives)?

Obviously we (she) is looking for someplace pretty for pictures but I am sure anywhere in the Elbow Valley area will satisfy that requirement. I'm concerned with finding a place close to a road where setting up 100 chairs isn't going to leave a permanent mark on the ecosystem.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Since we live in Edmonton now, we can't quickly come down and scout out potential areas.

Thank you,

Bryce

wedding place

We had a great experience at Nakoda Lodge at my son's wedding. If it is not too late, more infos at: www.nakodalodge.com

The only place I know of

The only place I know of that can handle a 100 plus people is the Bragg Creek Centre. If you are looking for a great restaurant try the Bavarian Inn.

Ceremony

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. We are actually going to have the reception at the Bragg Creek Centre, but we want to have the reception outside. I was thinking somewere like Forget-Me-Not Pond, however I was told they are restricted to small events there, because the parks people encourage use of the nearby camp ground for larger rentals.

Any ideas where else?

On par with parks

I would have to agree with parks policy.

The best place would be

The best place would be Elbow Falls but I would not be surprised if there is a limit on group size so you would have to check with the parks people. The other problem is that on a nice day the area fills up with people and you would have to work to get a area. Maybe they would let you set up a tent in the parking lot.
