Caddo’s 50 miles of waterways also makes it a must-visit landmark for canoeing or kayaking in an area of staggering natural beauty.

The longest-running concert music program on American television, Austin City Limits, is recorded at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, located in the bottom floor of the 478 feet W Hotels in Austin. Austin City Limits and C3 Presents produce the Austin City Limits Music Festival, an annual music and art festival held at Zilker Park in Austin. Other music events include the Urban Music Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Chaos In Tejas and Old Settler’s Music Festival.

The opening of the Houston and Texas Central Railway (H&TC) in 1871 turned Austin into the major trading center for the region, with the ability to transport both cotton and cattle. Austin was also the terminus of the southernmost leg of the Chisholm Trail, and “drovers” pushed cattle north to the railroad.

Ezell’s Cave is the smallest Texas NNL at just over 2 acres, whereas over 16,000 acres are designated at Palo Duro Canyon to capture the cross-sectional views of sedimentary rocks that represent four geological periods. Ownership of these sites is as diverse as the features represented and include U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, state parks and private organizations and individuals. The site was immediately closed off to the public until 2009, when it was opened as the public park, Waco Mammoth Site. La King’s Confectionery and Ice Cream Parlour is one of my favorite places to visit in Galveston.

In the Downtown facility, the presses there were decommissioned in the late 2000s. The newsroom within the facility had bull-pen style offices with a few private cubicles and offices on the edges. As of 2016 the building housed the Chronicle Production Department, as well as the offices of the Spanish newspaper La Voz de Houston. The facility, previously used as the Houston Post headquarters, will have a total of seven buildings with a total of over 440,000 square feet of space. The original building is a 1970s four story “New Brutalist” building.

In 1900 in order to satisfy a number of men and women who were interested in helping in the work but were not eligible to join the De Zavala Chapter, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, an auxiliary association, was formed. This was called Auxiliary, De Zavala Chapter, Daughters of the Republic of Texas. The chief project was securing that part of the Alamo fortress adjoining the Alamo church, which the state had bought from the Catholic church in 1883. It was hoped that what was left of the two-story stone fort could be added to the shrine because the greatest bloodshed had taken place in front of and in these rooms.
