Atlas "Run" Snowshoe
In late November I bought the Atlas Snow Run Snowshoes from MEC.
They set my wife back $195. I have used a couple different styles of snowshoes. Most I find kind of awkward to wear. That is what I like about the Atlas Running Version. They are really comfortable to walk in. Wearing these shoes I prefer snowshoeing over hiking. Mostly because my knees get a break on the downhill. Couple of things that are nice is the dual claw for traction and the spring loaded suspension which is accomplished with the rubber/plastic straps holding the boot harness to the shoe. One downside, unless you want a killer workout, on unbroken trail, the shoes sink more than I expected. If anyone has been on the trail recently or you are in a group this shortcoming is overcome by the comfort. Now if there had only been more snow in K-Country this year. Gets tiring always driving to Lake Louise to snowshoe.
